Wi-Fi and wired network faults
Network fault investigation may concern intermittent connections, devices that cannot connect or shared equipment that becomes unavailable. Useful scope details include whether the problem affects wireless devices, wired devices or both, and whether it happens throughout the space or in a particular location.
Describe the symptoms without assuming that the router, internet service or another device is responsible. Mention any existing report from your internet provider and any recent equipment or layout changes.
Installation and replacement projects
Installation requirements can include routers, switches, wireless access points and connections for computers or shared printers. A new setup, equipment replacement and office relocation each need a defined equipment and configuration scope.
For planned work, explain the space involved, the approximate number of devices and the activities the network needs to support. Identify cabling work separately, along with anything already arranged. If the project also includes employee computers or business applications, see our business IT support page.
Define the work and its constraints
Include the details relevant to your request:
- The connection problem or planned change.
- The affected devices and equipment models, if known.
- The location of any recurring coverage problem.
- The Portland ZIP code and relevant access arrangements.
- Your preferred timing and limits on downtime.
Mention existing network documents without uploading them. Don’t send Wi-Fi passwords, administrator credentials, one-time codes or diagrams containing security details.
